THERMA-TRU ANNOUNCES THREE LEADERSHIP CHANGES
David Haddix to lead Residential Business Unit; Joe Herman named CFO; Jeff Glosser to lead IT, Business Process Improvement
MAUMEE, OH, Dec. 9, 2005 – Therma-Tru® Doors, an operating unit of Fortune Brands (NYSE: FO), today announces three changes within the Corporate Leadership Team effective December 1, 2005.
"In line with our commitment to our core strategies and being a preferred place of employment, I am pleased to announce the following changes to our leadership team that will help facilitate our growth and further develop our leadership talent," said Carl Hedlund, Therma-Tru president and CEO.
David D. Haddix, senior vice president and chief financial officer, has been appointed senior vice president and general manager of the Residential Business Unit. Dave will be responsible for all market-facing activities of the Residential Door business, including sales, customer engagement, marketing, product management, innovation and research and development.
During his 25 years with Therma-Tru, Dave has held various financial assignments including corporate controller, treasurer, and most recently as CFO for the past five years. After graduating from the University of Toledo in 1976, Dave started his career with Ernst & Young before joining Therma-Tru in 1980.
"Dave's deep understanding of Therma-Tru, combined with his outstanding leadership style and strong role within our company culture, positions him extremely well for this position," said Hedlund.
Concurrently,
Joseph M. Herman has been named chief financial officer succeeding Dave Haddix.
In his most recent assignment as director of finance and business development, Joe was instrumental in the recent acquisitions of Southern Millwork Company and Sentinel Doors in the U.K. He has also held various roles in the finance department during his five years with Therma-Tru. Joe earned a degree in finance and accounting from Defiance College as well as an MBA from the University of Notre Dame.
"Joe has quickly learned the business at Therma-Tru and made a great contribution to our company. His growth, both professionally and as a leader, has been dramatic. I feel confident he will have continued success as our CFO," said Hedlund.
Concurrently,
Jeffrey M. Glosser, vice president of global sourcing and logistics, will assume additional responsibilities as vice president of information technology and business process improvement. With these added responsibilities, Jeff will drive productivity and business improvement within the corporate and selling, general and administrative (SG&A) functions. In addition, Jeff will continue to lead global sourcing and logistics.
Jeff has been with Therma-Tru for over two years leading the customer service, global sourcing and logistics functions. Prior to that, he led supply chain management at Pilkington after spending 18 years with Owens Corning in various planning, logistics and eCommerce assignments, including leading the IT organizations in Europe and Africa. Jeff holds degrees in computer science and geology from Denison University.
"Jeff has demonstrated strong leadership and has produced significant improvement in results in each of his assignments. His extensive background and broad knowledge of our business will allow him to help our company further improve through the use of process and technology," said Hedlund.
Dave Haddix, Joe Herman and Jeff Glosser will report directly to the CEO in their new roles.
